วันนี้ (15 ตุลาคม 2567) ณ ห้องประชุมสถานวิจัยความขัดแย้งและความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรมภาคใต้ สถาบันสันติศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตปัตตานี ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.กุสุมา กูใหญ่ ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันสันติศึกษา และ ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ศรีสมภพ จิตร์ภิรมย์ศรี อาจารย์ประจำสถาบันสันติศึกษา และผู้อำนวยการศูนย์เฝ้าระวังสถานการณ์ภาคใต้ ให้การต้อนรับ พล.ท.สุรเทพ หนูแก้ว ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์การปฏิบัติที่ 5 กองอำนวยการรักษาความมั่นคงภายในราชอาณาจักร/ผู้อำนวยการ ศูนย์ประสานงานด้านนโยบายและยุทธศาสตร์ จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ และคณะฯ ในโอกาสเดินทางเข้ารับตำแหน่งใหม่ ปฏิบัติงานในพื้นที่จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้
ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ศรีสมภพ จิตร์ภิรมย์ศรี ได้นำเสนอสถิติสะสมเหตุการณ์ชายแดนใต้จากฐานข้อมูลศูนย์เฝ้าระวังสถานการณ์ภาคใต้ (Deep South Watch Database) พร้อมวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ตลอดจนนำเสนอความก้าวหน้าของกระบวนการสันติภาพาชแดนใต้/ปาตานี ในขณะที่ ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.กุสุมา กูใหญ่ ได้นำเสนอผลการสำรวจความคิดเห็นของประชาชนต่อกระบวนการสันติภาพจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ (PEACE SURVEY) ทั้ง 7 ครั้ง พร้อมวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดย พล.ท.สุรเทพ หนูแก้ว และคณะ ได้ร่วมกันพูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนในประเด็นดังกล่าว ตลอดจนประเด็นอื่นๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง

During September 9 and 12, 2024, the research team from the Institute for Peace Studies (IPS) of Prince of Songkla University (Srisompob Jitpiromsri, Kusuma Kooyai and Rungrawee Chalermsripinyorat), has visited and participated in the research workshop which is part of an international research collaboration entitled “Exposure to Violence, Cooperative Behavior and Emotions”, led by Prof. Simon Hug at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Geneva, Switzerland
The research is based on a hypothesis that exposure to violence increases in-group cooperation while decreasing out-group cooperation. This relation is mediated through the emotions hope, compassion and fear. The research designs are surveys with an experimental component in five societal contexts, Colombia, Uganda, Turkey, Israel and Thailand’s Deep South. The research project would enhance and consolidate advanced skill in survey and experimental designs of the research team from Institute for Peace Studies (IPS), Prince of Songkla University. Moreover, it would expand our collaboration with international researchers from different countries.

นักวิจัยจากสถาบันสันติศึกษาและคณะสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเจนีวา สวิตเซอร์แลนด์ ร่วมประชุมเชิงปฏิบัติการ เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมโครงการวิจัยร่วมด้านความขัดแย้งและการสร้างสันติภาพ และการทำข้อตกลงความร่วมมือทางวิชาการในอนาคต
เมื่อวันที่ 9- 12 กันยายน 2567 ที่ผ่านมา ผศ.ดร.ศรีสมภพ จิตร์ภิรมย์ศรี ผศ.ดร.กุสุมา กูใหญ่ และ ดร.รุ่งรวี เฉลิมศรีภิญโญรัช คณะนักวิจัยจากสถาบันสันติศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ได้เข้าร่วมประชุมวางแผนและเตรียมความพร้อมโครงการวิจัย หัวข้อ “ประสบการณ์ความรุนแรง การแสดงออกด้านความร่วมมือและอารมณ์“ ณ มหาวิทยาลัยเจนีวา ประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์
โครงการวิจัยนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของแผนความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับศาสตราจารย์ Simon Hug ภาควิชารัฐศาสตร์และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ มหาวิทยาลัยเจนีวา ซึ่งจะดำเนินการในปี 2568 - 2569 โดยมีสมมุติฐานว่าประสบการณ์โดยตรงต่อความรุนแรงจะช่วยสร้างความเข้มแข็งของการสร้างความร่วมมือภายในกลุ่ม ในขณะเดียวกันก็จะลดความเข้มแข็งของการมีความร่วมมือภายนอกกลุ่มของตัวเองด้วย ความสัมพันธ์ดังกล่าวจะถูกเชื่อมประสานผ่านอารมณ์ความรู้สึกแห่งความหวัง ความเห็นอกเห็นใจและความกลัว การออกแบบวิจัยคือการวิจัยสำรวจและการวิจัยทดลองที่ทำใน 5 พื้นที่คือ โคลัมเบีย อูกันดา ตุรกี อิสราเอลและจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย การวิจัยนี้มุ่งจะช่วยยกระดับทักษะการวิจัยโดยเฉพาะการวิจัยสำรวจและการวิจัยทดลองของนักวิจัยจากสถาบันสันติศึกษา อีกทั้งยังเป็นการขยายความร่วมมือกับนักวิจัยจากนานาประเทศด้วย

เชิญชวนคณาจารย์ นักศึกษา และบุคคลภายนอกที่ สนใจเข้ามาร่วมฟังบรรยายการสัมมนาวิชาการของ นักศึกษาสาขาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ ภายใต้ หัวข้อ " U.S. Election 2024 : The Direction of the New World Order ศึกชี้ชะตาระเบียบโลกใหม่ภายใต้การเลือกตั้งสหรัฐฯ 2024"
ความเป็นประเทศมหาอำนาจโลกของสหรัฐอเมริกา เนื่องจากประเทศที่ขึ้นชื่อได้ว่าเป็นประเทศมหาอำนาจโลกนั้น มิได้มีบทบาทอยู่แค่ในประเทศหรือภูมิภาคของตัวเองเพียงแค่นั้น แต่ยังเป็นผู้ที่สามารถกำหนดทิศทางหรือบทบาทในทางการเมืองโลกได้อีกด้วย หากเปรียบเทียบง่ายๆ โลกนี้เป็นเหมือนเวที และชาติมหาอำนาจนั้นเป็นเหมือนพระเอกในละครเวทีนั้น ซึ่งหมายถึงชาติมหาอำนาจเหล่านี้ไม่ว่าจะเป็นใครก็แล้วแต่ล้วนส่งผลกระทบถึงนักแสดงอื่นๆที่เปรียบเสมือนชาติต่างๆต่อการกำหนดทิศทางและบทบาทของชาตินั้นๆบนเวทีโลก
อย่างไรก็ดีการเลือกตั้งของประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาในปีนี้เป็นการเลือกตั้งที่มีความน่าสนใจกว่าที่ผ่านมาในรอบหลายปี เนื่องจากประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกากำลังเผชิญกับภัยคุกคามในรูปแบบใหม่ เห็นได้ชัดเจนจากการรับมือสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาทของโรค COVID-19 และที่ยิ่งไปกว่านั้นคือการที่มีประเทศอื่นพัฒนาตัวเองขึ้นมาอย่างก้าวกระโดดขึ้นมาท้าทายกับมหาอำนาจและช่วงชิงโอกาสต่างๆที่เคยผูกขาดอยู่แค่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาและพันธมิตร ให้กระจายตัวออกและเพิ่มตัวเลือกให้แก่ประเทศอื่นๆมากยิ่งขึ้น การเลือกตั้งผู้นำสหรัฐอเมริกาในปลายปีนี้ถือเป็นหมุดหมายสำคัญสำหรับประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาสำหรับการรักษาสถานะความเป็นชาติมหอำนาจบนเวทีโลก การเปลี่ยนแปลงตัวผู้นำของประเทศที่เป็นชาติมหาอำนาจนั้นเป็นสิ่งที่เราทุกคนต้องติดตามและจับตามอง เพราะสุดท้ายแล้วผลกระทบนั้นจะส่งถึงตัวเราอย่างแน่นอน

อย่างไรก็ดีการเลือกตั้งของประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาในปีนี้เป็นการเลือกตั้งที่มีความน่าสนใจกว่าที่ผ่านมาในรอบหลายปี เนื่องจากประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกากำลังเผชิญกับภัยคุกคามในรูปแบบใหม่ เห็นได้ชัดเจนจากการรับมือสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาทของโรค COVID-19 และที่ยิ่งไปกว่านั้นคือการที่มีประเทศอื่นพัฒนาตัวเองขึ้นมาอย่างก้าวกระโดดขึ้นมาท้าทายกับมหาอำนาจและช่วงชิงโอกาสต่างๆที่เคยผูกขาดอยู่แค่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาและพันธมิตร ให้กระจายตัวออกและเพิ่มตัวเลือกให้แก่ประเทศอื่นๆมากยิ่งขึ้น การเลือกตั้งผู้นำสหรัฐอเมริกาในปลายปีนี้ถือเป็นหมุดหมายสำคัญสำหรับประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาสำหรับการรักษาสถานะความเป็นชาติมหอำนาจบนเวทีโลก การเปลี่ยนแปลงตัวผู้นำของประเทศที่เป็นชาติมหาอำนาจนั้นเป็นสิ่งที่เราทุกคนต้องติดตามและจับตามอง เพราะสุดท้ายแล้วผลกระทบนั้นจะส่งถึงตัวเราอย่างแน่นอน

In 2024 Southeast Asia finds itself embroiled in several persistent conflicts that have yet to be resolved. At the same time, issues of human rights and transitional justice are related to these conflicts.
Thus, the Institute for Peace Studies (IPS) at Prince of Songkla University, the Asian Political and International Studies Association (APISA), the Southern of Political Science and Public Administration Association (SouthPSPA), and the Center of ASEAN Community Studies (CACS), Faculty of Social Sciences, Naresuan University will jointly hold a conference on “Peacebuilding and Development in Southeast Asia” (PDSEA 2024), during 4-6 October 2024, in Hat Yai, Songkhla province, Thailand.
The conference aims to build specialized knowledge on the integration of peace, legitimacy and geoeconomics in Southeast Asia, as a means of mitigating conflict in areas where it exists in the region. The conference will be composed of several panels that look at various aspects of peacebuilding in different parts of Southeast Asia.
